Dew Treading

Recorded in mid-May last year, this vlog features one of my favorite topics: Dew Treading. Dew Treading is also one of the most powerful meditations known to humankind, yet virtually unknown in the Western Hemisphere, which is where I am.

This recording suggests the benefits of treading barefoot in the early morning dew. Of course, I digress a bit early in the video into some of the natural history of frost as a soil building mechanism. This is an interesting side note you can certainly share with anyone during an early morning stroll.

A Nutritional Powerhouse

That little drop of dew at the tip of a blade of grass can be a nutrtional powerhouse. It contains micronutrients and, when taken up through the soles of the feet, can be quite nourishing, especially from native or other grasses which have not been chemically fertilized.

I also go into how the iridescent orbs of dew or frost can serve as a meditation focus. If you are into chakra balancing, you will see that every drop of water or frost crystal can emanate a rainbow of colors. Simply by focusing on the tip of one blade of grass and rocking back and forth, allow whatever color you see, which is a frequency of energy, to give you whichever color you feel most in need of or attracted to.

The benefits of walking barefoot on the good earth cannot be overestimated. As a matter of fact, any indoor meditation can be enhanced simply by going outside for a little while afterwards. Walking barefoot will make you feel even better.

Sugar Magnolia

Dew Treading also reminds me of the Grateful Dead song, Sugar Magnolia: “She comes skimmin’ through rays of violet. She can wade in a drop of dew. She don’t come and I don’t follow; waits backstage while I sing to you.”

A classic: listen here. But you will appreciate it much more after watching Dew Treading.
